Communications Specialist – Jurisdiction

Location: Prince George, BC

Employment Type: Term – Ending October 2027 – Full Time (35 hours per week).

The Opportunity

The Communications Specialist – Jurisdiction supports the organization's internal and external communications with a focus on the Jurisdiction Framework which encompasses all CSFS services that impact the well‑being of children, youth, and families of the member Carrier and Sekani Nations. The specialist works with the communications team, jurisdiction teams, and other CSFS staff and leaders to implement CSFS communications strategies and to create and implement project/program specific strategies.

Responsibilities

- Work with the communications team and the Jurisdiction committees to provide advice and action on communications strategies, including best practice in the areas of writing, editing and publishing, social media management, graphic design, internal communications and other modalities.
- Provide regular creative story idea pitches for input and approval to contribute to change management practices as the Agency transitions towards a new service delivery model under jurisdiction.




- Develop and implement project plans related to fulfilling the jurisdiction framework in alignment with the organizational strategic vision and goals.

Qualifications

- Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Five years of marketing and/or communications leadership experience or an equivalent role.
- Previous experience in an Indigenous, legal, child welfare, health care, government or other not-for-profit environment is considered an asset.

Prince George sits on the traditional lands of the Lheidli T'enneh First Nation. Compensation

Wage Range: $41.837 to $51.471 per hour. Candidates will typically be hired, transferred, or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the wage range. Placement within the wage range depends on role‑specific knowledge, skills, abilities, related experience and consideration of market conditions and internal equity. This is a term position ending in October 2027 and is not eligible for employee perks.
