Your role

Perform structural analysis, seismic qualification and assessment, structural design, and ageing management.

Prepare engineering design calculations for structural systems involving steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry, and compile engineering packages.

Analyze structural systems and elements using analysis software such as ANSYS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, SSASI and others.

Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards and regulations, and adequacy of design for permits and approved plans.

Accountable for delivering all engineering deliverables to achieve project objectives within specified timelines and budgets.

Provide technical instructions to junior staff or designers to develop engineering documentation.

Review and comment on work performed by others to ensure accuracy, completeness and quality of technical information and design documentation.

Participate in formal engineering design and other reviews as mandated for design changes.

Perform plant walkdowns as required to support design requirement definition and detailed engineering of design modifications.

About You

Civil Engineering degree with a minimum of 10 years of structural analysis and design experience in steel and concrete structures in nuclear power plants and/or industrial buildings. A master's degree or higher is an asset.

Licensed in a professional engineering organization recognized in Canada; preferably registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.





3 to 5 years of site or field experience in nuclear power plants and/or industrial buildings is an asset.

Experience with static, dynamic and seismic analysis of structures and foundations.

Deep understanding of structural engineering from design‑office and site experience.

Thorough knowledge of Canadian and international codes and standards used in civil/structural engineering.

Proficiency with analysis software commonly used in civil/structural engineering such as STAAD Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, etc.

Knowledge of the modification process of nuclear power plants; ECC process or similar is an asset.

Strong time‑management and prioritization skills.

Effective organizational skills.

Adequate knowledge of nuclear QA guidelines, procedures and practices is preferable.

Knowledge of applicable nuclear safety codes and regulations is an asset.

Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Ability to work effectively under tight schedules and budgets.

Eligible for security clearance through PWGSC. Travel to client sites required.
