Pay Details $165,000 - $175,000 CAD (base salary). This role is eligible for a discretionary variable compensation award that considers business and individual performance.
Job Description TD Securities Investment Banking is a leading franchise in Canada, providing corporate and government clients with capital markets and financial advisory services. The Vice President will work on integrated teams handling capital markets, corporate finance, and mergers & acquisitions. The role exposes the individual to a wide variety of clients, industries, financial services, and products, and develops skills needed for success in Investment Banking.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibility for day-to-day M&A; transaction execution
Liaise and interact with clients at all levels (CEO, CFO, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, etc.)
Oversee and guide financial modeling
Structure and deliver high impact presentations
Ensure senior deal team and clients are kept informed of key developments, progress of deliverables, and other milestones as deals progress
Establish an environment that promotes respect for the individual employee and adheres to the policies and guidelines of the Bank
Direct,
train and develop staff to enable them to meet challenges, department objectives, and achieve full potential
Maintain confidentiality of client information
Qualifications
5+ years of relevant work experience, of which at least 3 years must be as an Associate or Vice President in investment banking
Undergraduate or graduate degree in relevant fields with outstanding academic qualifications
History of executing M&A; investment banking transactions
Ability to drive qualitative industry analysis for the purpose of investment banking transaction execution, based on knowledge and interaction with key strategic and financial players
Experience using valuation/analysis tools provided by data providers/consultants
Experience drafting management presentations and other M&A; related transaction materials
Demonstrate robust quantitative/analytical skills, attention to detail and client focus
Strategic and creative thinking, distinguished written and oral communication skills
Confident, self‑starter leader with strong work ethic and focus on team
Ability to learn quickly and take on new responsibilities
Dedication to building a career in the investment banking industry
Willingness to attain FINRA SIE and Series 79 licenses
