Strategic Sourcing Director / Manager – International Meat Trade

The Mission

Henja International is seeking a true Supply Chain Architect to drive our rapid expansion in the Canada-to-Asia meat trade. We are not hiring just a buyer — we are looking for a seasoned industry leader who can turn strong factory relationships into a sustainable competitive advantage.

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)

• Quota Mastery & Supplier Development

Leverage your established network to secure consistent export quotas and supply volumes from Tier-1 Canadian packers (Cargill, JBS, Olymel, Maple Leaf, HyLife, etc.).

• Product Customization & Technical Alignment

Work directly with plant management to customize cutting specifications, packaging, labeling, and processing standards to meet stringent Chinese market requirements (GACC/CIFER).

• Strategic Sourcing & Market Intelligence

Monitor North American meat markets (CME futures, spot prices) and execute smart procurement strategies — including price locking, long-term contracts, and opportunistic buying.

• Regulatory & Compliance Leadership

Own end-to-end compliance, including CFIA export certificates, beef age verification, avian influenza zoning,



and all other Chinese import protocols to ensure zero rejection risk.

• Problem Solving & Stakeholder Management

Act as the primary bridge between Canadian producers and our global clients. Proactively resolve trade barriers, quality issues, and logistics challenges.

Who You Are (Requirements)

• 5–8+ years of senior experience in Canadian meat procurement or export.

• Elite Industry Network: Proven relationships with major Canadian processors and the ability to directly engage senior management. Your network is your strongest asset.

• Strong technical knowledge of meat grading (AAA/Prime), primal cuts, export specifications, and international trade logistics.

• Language: Fluent English is mandatory. Mandarin is a strong asset but not required. We provide dedicated bilingual administrative support for top candidates with exceptional supplier networks.

• Base Salary: CAD 100,000 – 130,000 (significantly higher for candidates with a strong portable supplier book).
