Make a meaningful impact as a Family Preservation Counsellor dedicated to supporting Indigenous families. Provide essential preservation and reunification services within the community and family settings, ensuring cultural connections are upheld.
This full time role involves working closely with families and children in accordance with Indigenous values. You'll engage in restorative practices, identify family strengths, and collaborate with social workers and community partners. Your contributions are vital in enhancing family functioning and supporting cultural connections.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver individual family preservation and reunification services
• Identify strengths and mitigate risks to child well-being
• Facilitate community engagement and Circle gatherings
• Assist during court proceedings for families
• Maintain accurate case documentation in a timely manner
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or equivalent experience
• Minimum one year of job-specific experience
• Knowledge of Child, Family and Community Services Act
• Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle
• Preferred: Master’s degree in Social Work or related field
