General Manager We are looking for a Forward-Thinking Leader with a Strong Business Acumen! The General Manager reports directly to the board of directors of the EID and supports the Vision, Mission and Values of the EID.
Responsibilities
Manage Day-to-Day Operations: Financial Resources, Engineering/Operations, Human Resource Management, Facility Management, Land Management, OH&S;, Information Services, EIDNet, and Corporate/Public Relations
Strategic Planning and Implementation of Work Plans to achieve Approved Goals and Objectives
Budget Preparation and Management: Ensure Effective Delivery of Services in the District
Develop and Maintain Positive Working Relationships with Government, Irrigation, Agricultural, and Business Representatives
Communicate with the EID Board, Employees, Customers, Contractors, Vendors, Government Representatives, Irrigation, Agricultural and Business Representatives, and the General Public. Respond to Inquiries and Issues Promptly and Professionally
Collect and Present Information at Board Meetings Pertinent for Direction/Decision-Making Purposes: Recommend Policies and Actions, and Provide input into Strategic Planning
Participate in Human Resource Management Processes such as Recruitment,
Onboarding/Orientation, Performance Management, Discipline and Career Development
Maintain Compliance with OH&S; and Ensure all EID Employees are in Compliance with OH&S;
Attend Meetings, Conferences and Occasional After Hour Requirements
Requirements
5 - 10 years’ Experience in Business Management
Strategic Thinking Style with a Progressive Nature
Effective Leadership Skills and Interpersonal Skills
Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
Robust Project Management Skills
Critical and Strategic Thinking, Logical Analysis, and Problem Solving/Decision Making Skills
Strong Organizational Skills with the Ability to Manage Multiple Tasks Concurrently and Meet Deadlines
Irrigation/Agricultural/Farming Background Considered an Asset
Valid Alberta Class 5 vehicle operator’s licence
