Job Description
The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking motivated Physician Assistants/Clinical Assistants for two full‑time positions in the Cardiac Sciences Program at St. Boniface Hospital.
Responsibilities
The Physician Assistant/Clinical Assistant will perform, order, and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic investigations/interventions. Duties include performing history and physical exams in a variety of settings (Emergency Department and wards), following patients in pre/peri/postoperative wards and other clinical settings. Assistants will attend clinical and educational rounds. Administrative responsibilities include record‑keeping for all patient encounters, using dictation or electronic medical records as available. Assistants must communicate effectively in English with members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
This is NOT a medical assistant or medical office assistant position.
Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and is accompanied by a advantages package.
Qualifications
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba as a Physician Assistant or Clinical Assistant.
- Eligible for a Medical Staff Appointment.
- Prior experience preferred.
- Graduate of a Physician Assistant Educational Program acceptable to CPSM.
Clinical Assistants
- Graduate of an accredited medical school in Canada or abroad.
- Must have at least one of the following:
- Clinical Assistant Assessment
- NAC OSCE
- LMCC
