Sport Data Scientist - Student Placement At the Canadian Sport Institute Ontario (CSIO), we live and breathe high performance. The Sport Data Science Student Placement is a developmental role at CSIO, ideally suited for a Master’s or Ph.D. student with foundational experience in their field and an aspiration to pursue a career in high performance sport.

The role has the following core functions:

Assist our sport data science team with data collection, processing, and analysis.





Support and learn about quality assurance for CSIO’s high performance sport data systems, databases, and operating procedures.

Actively receive mentorship in applied sport data science.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the data science process (data collection, data preprocessing, data analysis, modeling, evaluation, and reporting), the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and a passion for high performance sport. The placement offers an opportunity to enhance understanding of sport data science in practice and support athletes and coaches with insights derived from data.
