Salary Range: CAD 118,700 – 145,100 (based on a 35‑hour workweek). Salary will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, and other factors. Candidates who may fall outside the range are encouraged to apply.

Annual Bonus Target: Based on the Base Salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance).

About the Role We’re looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our growing team!

Responsibilities

Design and develop end‑to‑end AI solutions for real business cases with a product mindset and measurable impact.

Lead AI projects across exploration, implementation, testing, and monitoring, de‑risking ambiguous problem spaces.

Translate complex, unstructured data into actionable insights; define hypotheses, success metrics, and iterate based on results.

Partner with stakeholders to understand needs and convert them into scalable technical solutions.

Collaborate with data scientists, business SMEs, developers, designers, and other cross‑functional team members to build AI solutions in AWS.

Act as a technical lead and reference for the data science team.





Use analytics to understand software usage patterns and provide recommendations on improvements.

Coach and mentor junior members of the team.

Lead and enforce data science best practices: coding, peer review, experimentation, and testing.

Qualifications and Experience

Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (computer science, mathematics, AI, engineering, or a related field), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

At least 5 years of experience in data science applications and product development, with a strong focus on NLP and machine learning.

Strong communication, leadership, mentorship, and AI project management skills; proven experience guiding junior team members and influencing cross‑functional stakeholders.

Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), integrating with APIs, evaluation techniques, prompt engineering, and applying agentic system patterns (planning, tool‑use/function calling, orchestration, and guardrails).

Experience with developing, deploying, and maintaining software in cloud environments (strong preference for AWS); familiarity with building reliable LLM/NLP pipelines in production.

Multi‑platform production experience with Python, GitHub, AWS, and CI/CD tools.

Expert‑level understanding of the underlying theory of machine learning and modern NLP/LLM techniques.

Demonstrated ability to structure and execute work in ambiguous problem spaces, defining hypotheses, success metrics, and iterating toward outcomes.





Product mindset with a track record of translating insights into user and business impact; proactive self‑starter who identifies opportunities and takes initiative end‑to‑end.

Ability to collaborate with others and coach junior members of staff; strong stakeholder communication across diverse backgrounds.

Enthusiasm for teamwork and the ability to communicate with colleagues of diverse backgrounds.

No Canadian work experience is required; however, you must be eligible to work in Canada.
