We are seeking a SAS Platform Migration Lead to drive large-scale migration initiatives from legacy SAS environments to modern analytics platforms. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SAS architecture, strong migration experience, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams through transformation programs.
KARAT certification is highly preferred, demonstrating strong problem-solving and technical leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Migration Strategy & Planning
- Lead end-to-end SAS platform migration (on-prem to cloud or SAS Viya)
- Define migration roadmap, timelines, and risk mitigation strategies
Platform Modernization
- Assess current SAS environments and recommend modernization approaches
- Transition workloads to cloud-native or distributed architectures
Code Conversion & Optimization
- Analyze and convert SAS code into optimized equivalents where required
- Ensure performance tuning and scalability post-migration
Data Integration
- Integrate SAS workloads with modern data platforms (e.g.,
Hadoop, Spark, Cloud Data Lakes)
- Ensure seamless data flow and consistency
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead technical teams and coordinate with business stakeholders
- Provide technical guidance and governance throughout migration lifecycle
Testing & Validation
- Ensure data accuracy, reconciliation, and validation post-migration
- Establish robust testing frameworks
Technical Qualifications
- Strong expertise in SAS (Base SAS, SAS Macro, SAS Grid, SAS Viya)
- Proven experience in SAS migration projects (Cloud or distributed platforms)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Knowledge of data engineering tools (Spark, Python, SQL)
- Familiarity with ETL tools and data warehousing concepts
Preferred Qualifications
- KARAT Certification (Highly Preferred)
- Experience with financial services / regulatory environments
- Exposure to contemporary data platforms like Databricks or Snowflake
