Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Experience

- Five (5) years experience in an Occupational Health and Safety setting or equivalent experience required.
- Experience in project management, program planning, development and evaluation required.
- Formal management training/experience required.
- Finance and budgeting experience an asset.
- Experience in research and data analysis preferred.
- Experience working in the healthcare system preferred.
- Computer knowledge and experience with basic database software applications an asset.
- Knowledge of safety certification processes an asset.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

- Baccalaureate degree in a health-related discipline from an accredited education institution.
- Degree or certificate in Human Resources Management preferred.
- Training/certification in an occupational safety and health discipline required.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

- Active member in valuable standing of an associated regulatory body as appropriate.
- Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN (C)) preferred.
- Advanced preparation in Occupational Health and Safety required (i.e. CRSP designation) preferred.
- Certification in Disability Management (i.e. CDMP) preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to assume a leadership role.
- Demonstrated skill and competence in organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Superior communication and management skills required.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, critical thinking, conflict resolution and decision-making skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.




- Ability to perform independently and as a member of the health care team.
- Ability to delegate appropriately and supervise performance of staff.
- Ability to prioritize workload and attend to unit operations in a timely manner.
- Ability to respond to multiple and often competing demands.
- Ability to plan, manage and implement change.
- Ability to function in a computerized environment.
- Ability to recognize and pursue self-development opportunities.

Physical Requirements

- May be required to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings.
- May be required to travel throughout the service area requiring a valid Manitoba driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle.
