Job Summary

Environmental Project Manager with 10–15 years of contaminated sites experience to work in a multi-disciplinary team that solves complex issues for our clients throughout Northern Canada. The role is part of the Remediation Program Management (RPM) team, located in Edmonton or Calgary, and involves planning and managing environmental assessments and remediation of oil‑and‑gas sites in the Northwest Territories and Yukon, as well as mentoring junior staff.

Your Impact

- Participate in a team workplace, collaborating closely with Project Coordinators, other Project Managers, Senior Project Directors/Technical Leads, and Field Technicians/Scientists/Engineers.
- Prepare Health and Safety plans and Emergency response plans.
- Prepare proposals and cost estimates, schedule field staff and subcontractors, compile data, and write reports—including conclusions and recommendations.
- Manage project accounting, tracking, and reporting per WSP’s Master Services Agreements.
- Train junior staff in environmental practices such as Phase I and II ESAs, drilling, surveying, groundwater sampling, remediation oversight, and on‑site health and safety.
- Interface with clients to ensure needs are met and projects/proposals are progressing, and coordinate with the team for necessary support.
- Support other RPM team members in health and safety, project management, completion, and client service responsibilities.




- Participate in a limited number of site visits during two field programs (winter and summer).

The Skills That Set You Apart

- University degree or diploma in engineering, or natural/earth sciences.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in contaminated site assessments and conceptual site models of upstream oil-and-gas sites.
- Experience working in the North is preferred.
- Sound understanding of health and safety procedures in the workplace and a safety-conscious attitude.
- Professional designation with eligibility to register in NWT and Yukon is preferred.

Compensation

- AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YK: $93,700 – $124,200
- MB & ON: $85,500 – $117,800
- NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $84,700 – $112,400

Disclosure: The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business needs. The wage range provided may be subject to change.
