As the Senior Integration Engineer – Operations, you will own the platforms that keep our business running seamlessly. You’ll be the go-to expert for ensuring systems remain stable, responsive, and resilient under all conditions. This role involves collaborating with development and release teams to anticipate changes, validate deployments, and safeguard production environments. You’ll work closely with stakeholders during incident resolution, identify opportunities to automate routine tasks, and contribute to AI-driven solutions that enhance backend support and enable smarter, faster troubleshooting. With on-call responsibilities and a focus on high-impact problem solving, this role places you at the heart of our mission-critical systems and offers a real opportunity to shape how we deliver value.
Role Details Role type and location:
Full-time, Permanent role based at Vancity head office (Vancouver). Our head office is in Vancouver, but we are open to candidates in BC and Ontario. Hybrid work arrangement with in office requirements for events and business demands as needed.
How You'll Make An Impact
Integration Platform Management: Support and maintain MuleSoft Runtime Fabric on AKS, Azure API Management, Azure Service Bus/Event Grid, Logic Apps, and Azure Functions, ensuring smooth platform operations.
Production Change & Release Management: Partner with CAB (Change Advisory Board) and Release Management teams to plan, approve, and execute production changes while ensuring compliance with operational standards.
Monitoring & Observability: Proactively monitor system health using Azure Monitor,
Application Insights, and Grafana, identifying potential risks and performance bottlenecks.
Production Support & Troubleshooting: Monitor, diagnose, and resolve production issues across the integration platform stack, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid resolution of critical incidents.
On-Call / Pager-Duty Support: Provide after-hours, weekend, and on-call support for critical production issues, ensuring 24/7 availability of the integration platforms.
Incident Management & Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Lead incident investigations, perform detailed RCAs, and implement permanent fixes to prevent recurrence of production issues.
Collaboration with Development & Release Teams: Work with development teams to understand release contents, assess production impact, validate deployments, and ensure smooth transition of changes into production.
Automation & Documentation: Develop operational playbooks and automation scripts to improve reliability and response times; maintain accurate troubleshooting guides and system documentation, and share knowledge across teams.
What You’ll Bring To The Team
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
8+ years driving production support, backend operations, and integration platform reliability.
5+ years hands-on with Azure Integration Services (Logic Apps, Functions, Service Bus, API Management) or equivalent cloud integration platforms; 2+ years with MuleSoft.
Expert in troubleshooting complex production incidents across APIs, integration platforms, and backend services.
Strong programming skills with experience building and maintaining scalable, resilient backend services.
Deep knowledge of observability and monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Grafana, Splunk) to proactively detect and resolve issues.
Skilled in automating operational tasks, creating runbooks,
and implementing solutions that improve incident response and system uptime.
Solid understanding of authentication, authorization, and security best practices in production environments.
Collaborative problem-solver with excellent communication skills, able to work seamlessly with development, release, and operations teams.

What You’ll Earn This role offers a salary range of
$101,200 to $130,000 per annum . The base pay offered may vary depending on qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
