Job Description

The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for a Stress Analysis Specialist - Metallic Structures to join our In Service Engineering - Structures team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada), where you will be answering complex challenges in a multifunctional context, using all possible options that match customer needs.
The In-Service structure Engineering department is in charge of providing efficient repair solutions to A220 customers.
As part of the Customer Service Team, you will perform complex static and damage tolerance analysis for metallic parts while working closely with design colleagues to provide repair solutions using both classical hand calculations and computer techniques.

Your challenges
- Be responsible for analysing damage reports and approving repair solutions from a stress point of view, in accordance with relevant certification requirements of all components and/or assemblies of the A220 structures.
- Answer complex challenges in a multifunctional context, using all possible options that match customer needs.
- Work within a transnational community with the Toulouse and Australia sites, commonly liaising with them on a daily basis.
- Interact with a multidisciplinary team in the development of structural repair solutions.
- Perform static strength and damage tolerance analysis for specific or generic structural metallic repairs in support of the A220 fleet.
- Support the completion of various A220 aircraft structural manuals, such as the Aircraft Structural Repair Publication (ASRP) and the Aircraft Maintenance Publication (AMP).
- Prepare or review stress analysis reports covering repairs or allowable damage limits to metallic structures.
- Present generic repair analyses to Transport Canada engineering team for concurrence.
- Ensure aircraft safety and airworthiness, reporting all unsafe conditions.
- Coordinate proposed repair solution with other A220 actors and consider the implications of airworthiness regulations, materials and processes, aerodynamic effects and any other required function.
- Promote and support continuous improvement and innovation initiatives of the Daily Repairs organisation through selected projects, providing added value to the aircraft operator.
- Deliver repair instructions in accordance with the relevant certification/airworthiness requirements and Airbus processes and methods.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in stress analysis in the aerospace industry.
- Good knowledge of aircraft metallic structure stress analysis (practical experience on A220 structures is an asset).
- Knowledge of damage tolerance analysis (experience with NASGRO is an asset).
- Experience interrogating aircraft structure repair drawings (CATIA V5 is an asset).
- Good understanding of applicable airworthiness regulations (experience with Transport Canada is an asset).
- Knowledge of customer operations, product integrity/liability and maintenance operations is an asset.
- Agile person with initiative, a strong sense of responsibility and customer orientation.
- Organised, able to manage time and prioritise tasks effectively while meeting tight deadlines.
- Negotiation level in French and English is required.
Other details
- May involve some travel for business; must be able and willing to travel accordingly.
- Two types of work schedules: Typical 8‑hour shift Monday‑Friday; 5‑5‑4 rotating schedule with 12‑hour workdays (6:00‑18:00).
