Role: Lead Infrastructure Architect

About the Engagement

Akkodis is partnering with a leading financial service regulator in Ontario to engage a Lead Infrastructure Architect to help shape and evolve a large-scale hybrid cloud environment.

This is a high-impact, hands-on architecture role focused on driving cloud governance, infrastructure modernization, and platform reliability across a complex, regulated enterprise. You’ll play a key role in defining standards, guiding engineering teams, and ensuring infrastructure platforms are secure, scalable, and aligned with long-term digital transformation goals.

Services to be Provided

- Define and implement cloud architecture governance, including standards, policies, tagging, cost controls, and security guardrails
- Lead the development of infrastructure roadmaps aligned with enterprise architecture and business strategy
- Architect and optimize Azure-based hybrid environments supporting platforms such as Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, and Power Platform
- Drive Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/Bicep) and automation initiatives using PowerShell and Azure Automation
- Establish observability and monitoring frameworks (Azure Monitor, Application Insights) to ensure performance and reliability
- Lead capacity planning, performance engineering, and scalability strategies across enterprise platforms
- Implement Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices including SLIs, SLOs,



and incident post-mortems
- Oversee disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity strategies in a hybrid environment
- Lead architecture reviews, governance forums, and technical design validation
- Act as the technical lead for infrastructure, mentoring engineers and guiding solution delivery
- Partner with security, data, and application teams to ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements
- Support major incident response, root cause analysis, and long-term remediation planning

Expertise Required

- 10+ years of experience in enterprise IT infrastructure, with 5+ years in a Lead / Architect-level role
- Strong hands-on expertise across Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, networking, identity, monitoring, cost optimization)
- Proven experience designing and operating hybrid cloud environments (on-prem + Azure)

Deep knowledge of:

- Infrastructure architecture (compute, storage, networking, virtualization)
- Identity & access management (Active Directory / Azure AD)
- Automation & IaC (Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell, Azure Automation)
- Monitoring & observability (Azure Monitor, Application Insights)
- Security best practices (Zero Trust, encryption, access controls, compliance frameworks)




- Experience implementing high availability, scalability, and resilience patterns
- Proven ability to define governance frameworks, standards, and infrastructure policies
- Hands-on experience supporting or integrating Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, or Power Platform environments
- Solid experience in incident management, root cause analysis, and infrastructure lifecycle management
- Background working within regulated or compliance-driven environments

Preferred Certifications

- Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Azure Administrator Associate / Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
- Terraform Associate
- Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator (asset)
