Our client, a well-established and growing Canadian industrial & mechanical contractor, is seeking a Project Director to lead a major industrial project in the Lower Mainland. The company has a strong track record delivering construction, maintenance, and shutdown services across oil & gas, mining, pulp & paper, nuclear and infrastructure sectors across Canada. This is a key leadership role for someone who can take full ownership of project execution while driving a strong safety culture and high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the project with full accountability for execution, performance, and delivery
Drive and continuously improve HSE culture across the project
Lead Project Managers, Superintendents, Engineers, and subcontractors
Build alignment and secure buy-in from internal teams, client representatives, and stakeholders
Oversee project planning, scheduling, cost control, and risk management
Act as the primary point of contact with the client
Mentor and develop project teams, driving accountability and performance
Ensure all work is executed in compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
Extensive experience in industrial construction within oil & gas, refining, or heavy industrial environments
Proven experience in a senior leadership role on large-scale projects
Strong background delivering mechanical, piping, and industrial construction scopes
Demonstrated ability to drive HSE excellence and build a strong safety culture
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence teams and stakeholders
Strong commercial and operational acumen
