A rapidly scaling technology organization operating a high‑traffic digital platform is seeking a

Staff DevOps Engineer

to drive the evolution of its infrastructure and reliability engineering practices. The company is focused on building world‑class technology, modernizing its cloud environment, and strengthening DevOps maturity as it enters its next phase of growth.

About the Role This is a hands‑on, strategic leadership position responsible for owning the DevOps function and building a best‑in‑class infrastructure foundation. The Staff DevOps Engineer will design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient AWS cloud systems while enabling efficient development and deployment workflows.

You will define DevOps best practices, mentor future team members, and collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure the platform remains highly available, cost‑efficient, and aligned with modern engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

DevOps Leadership:

Champion DevOps culture, tools, and processes across engineering, product, and operations.

Infrastructure Ownership:

Architect, manage, and optimize the company’s AWS infrastructure with a focus on scalability, availability, cost optimization, and security.

CI/CD Development:

Build and refine CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar) to streamline build, testing, and deployment workflows.

Infrastructure as Code:

Lead adoption of IaC using AWS CDK (or similar tooling) across all environments.

Monitoring & Incident Response:

Implement observability tools and create incident response playbooks to ensure fast detection and remediation.





Security & Compliance:

Enforce cloud security best practices, including IAM hardening, secrets management, and audit logging.

Team Building:

Recruit, mentor, and develop a growing DevOps or platform engineering team; define team charter and technical direction.

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience leading and building DevOps or platform engineering teams in a cloud‑first, high‑traffic environment.

Deep, hands‑on expertise with

AWS services , architectures, and cost‑optimization strategies.

Expert‑level proficiency with

Infrastructure as Code , ideally using

AWS CDK .

Strong experience with

GitHub , GitHub Actions, branching strategies, and secure CI/CD practices.

Experience supporting both monolithic and microservices architectures.

Strong security mindset and experience implementing cloud‑native security controls.

Excellent communication, cross‑functional collaboration skills, and leadership ability.

Experience with at least one of the following:

PHP/Laravel or Next.js environments

New Relic or Sentry

Building or implementing DevSecOps pipelines
