Our client, an established employer in British Columbia is seeking a Sr Business Analyst to join the team. This role will work on Sharepoint and M365 components, and work on management of business process improvements.
This is a 1 year contract to start; expected to extend long term - hybrid 2 days a week in Vancouver. We have placed multiple people with this organisation and know the hiring teams well.
What You’ll Do
- Lead requirements gathering and process walkthroughs to understand current-state operations and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Elicit, document, and manage requirements throughout the entire development lifecycle, specifically for SharePoint Online and M365 components.
- Perform gap analysis between legacy systems and future-state digital solutions.
- Define and document future-state business processes aligned to program goals, including business process mapping.
- Translate business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring traceability using a waterfall approach (BRD and RTM).
- Support and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including the development of test plans and execution of test cases.
- Support user adoption by developing user guides, training materials, and conducting training sessions.
- Collaborate with technical teams to design and validate solutions while communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Work with security and privacy teams on threat risk assessments and privacy impact assessments
What You Bring
- Strong experience as a Business Analyst with specific expertise in SharePoint Online (site collections, libraries, lists, and administration).
- Deep understanding of M365 core apps, information architecture, metadata, and permissions models.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex legislation, regulations, policies, and standards.
- Proven track record in business process mapping and requirements definition.
- Solid analytical and documentation skills with a process-first mindset.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Results-driven and self-directed, with strong organizational and time management skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with records management, retention policies, and data loss prevention.
- Technical knowledge of PowerShell or migration tools like Sharegate.
- Experience configuring Power Apps, Power BI, and Power Automate workflows.
