Position Overview

Technical Support Specialist – Remote full‑time.

As a Technical Support Specialist, you’ll be the first line of support at ecobee. You will work with our Smart Owner to diagnose and solve technical and non‑technical issues through phone, email, and chat. You will assist with device installation, software, and energy inquiries, and provide guidance for energy conservation.

Responsibilities

- Diagnose and resolve technical and non‑technical issues via phone, email, and chat.
- Assist Smart Owners with device installation and configuration.
- Provide guidance on software usage and energy‑saving practices.
- Document all interactions and solutions accurately.
- Work effectively with multiple tools and systems to resolve inquiries.
- Apply knowledge from training and resources to deliver a memorable customer experience.

Qualifications

- Solid customer service experience (food service, hospitality, retail, or similar).​
- Superior verbal and written communication skills across platforms.
- Proven ability to multitask and use various tools and systems.
- Independent research skills to find answers using available knowledge bases.
- Eagerness to learn new technology and understanding of smart‑home devices.
- Ability to listen attentively and document interactions on the spot.




- Passion for customer support and willingness to embrace challenges.
- Bonus: Fluency in written and spoken Spanish.

Benefits & Compensation

- Hourly rate of $23.07 CAD.

- Fully remote, full‑time position.

Schedule

- Individuals assigned 5 shifts per week, with 2 consecutive days off.
- Mon‑Fri: 7:45 AM – 11:30 PM ET; Sat‑Sun: 8:30 AM – 9:30 PM ET.

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to talk, hear, manipulate objects or controls, stand, walk, stoop, bend, or reach. Occasional lifting up to 25–50 pounds and occasional travel.
