We are seeking an immediate Systems Testing/QA Specialist - Intermediate for the Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement in an onsite role at 21 College Street, Toronto, Ontario. This position supports the CDT project testing lifecycle, including test strategy, test cases/scripts, execution (AODA, data, stress/load), defect tracking, and UAT leadership.

Responsibilities

- Execute functional and non-functional tests, data testing, integration, regression, and stress/load testing.
- Develop test strategy, cases/scenarios/scripts, and coverage plans from specifications.
- Create and execute DB queries (e.g., SQL) for test data mimicking real-world scenarios.
- Use version control and automation tools; support SDLC phases.
- Lead UAT sessions and review user documentation for alignment and clarity.

Quality Assurance Skills (35%)

- Review specifications; identify quality issues and escalate to management.
- Document and maintain test artifacts (plans, scripts, data, validation).
- Execute manual and automated tests; report results.
- Track defects and break-fixes via team-oriented tools; manage lifecycle/triage.

Business Skills (25%)

- Communicate with PM, test lead, and developers to ensure quality and timelines.
- Facilitate test plan and case reviews with cross-functional teams.
- Prioritize and schedule defects with client lead; participate in triage sessions.
- Provide status reports and present defects/migration strategies to stakeholders.

Public Sector Experience (5%)





- Experience with government/public sector testing.

Technical Areas in Scope

- Testing Types: Functional, non-functional, integration, regression, AODA, data, stress/load, UAT.
- Tools: Defect tracking, version control, automation tools, SQL queries.
- Tech: SharePoint, Web Services, HTML/JS/VBScript, COTS/SaaS/Cloud.

Must-Haves

- 8+ years QA experience, including leading teams, defect tracking/change management.
- Version control systems; full SDLC knowledge.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Desired Skillset

- Automated testing tools.
- CASE/data query tools and structured methodologies.

Minimum Experience & Education

- Proven QA/test management across lifecycle phases.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.

Engagement Requirements

- Location: Onsite, Toronto (8:00 AM-5:00 PM Mon-Fri).
- Security: Must meet CRJMC level (start date subject to clearances/contract).

Deliverables

- Test strategies, cases/scripts, data sets, and coverage plans.
- Test execution reports, defect logs, and UAT support.
- Status reports and quality issue escalations.

Engagement Details

Estimated Start Date: May 12, 2026. Estimated End Date: May 13, 2027. Business Days: 250. Hours per Day/Week: 7.25 hours per day (8:00 AM-5:00 PM Mon-Fri, excluding breaks).
