Overview Reporting to the Senior Vice-President of Finance & Operations, this position contributes to SIGA’s reputation for
organizational excellence , by providing effective leadership, strategic planning and systems development for corporate payroll services.
Responsibilities Scheduling, auditing and reviewing processes to ensure the accuracy, integrity and compliance of payroll data, with a focus on continual improvement and internal controls. Leading departmental human resource activities. Developing annual work and project plans that support SIGA’s priorities. Collaborating with corporate Finance, Human Resources, and IT staff to address matters relating to payroll services. Researching and implementing best practices in corporate payroll systems and policies. Implementing and maintaining SIGA’s payroll software. Administering Payroll’s budget. Leading other projects and activities as required, to ensure SIGA’s payroll functions are managed transparently and responsibly.
Education
Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Arts (Major in Business Economics)
Experience
Payroll Compliance Practitioner or Certified Payroll Manager through the Canadian Payroll Association.
Conditions of Employment
Successful candidates are subject to a background check as well as required to obtain and maintain a gaming employee Certificate of Registration from the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA)/Indigenous Gaming Regulators (IGR).
The minimum age to work in a casino or any area where gaming can be seen is 19 years of age.
Compliance with all regulatory requirements as may be applicable to your position including but not limited to both SLGA requirements and the Anti-Money Laundering requirements set out in the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act and regulations and policies made thereunder by Canada and FINTRAC.
Some SIGA locations operate in a high sensory environment. You may be required to work in an workplace where you will be exposed to tobacco smoke, high noise levels, flashing and blinking lights, and a congested workplace. SIGA adheres to all occupational health and safety regulations and makes every effort to limit the adverse effects of these elements.
