This position is On-site - working all 5 days per week in the Office

Position Overview The Technical Internetworking Specialist is responsible for maintaining network and service‑level availability across Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island. This role provides broad technical support across the organization and serves as the primary “tool‑belt” resource for MPLS and High‑Speed Internet (HSI) engineering teams. The position handles a wide scope of activities—ranging from enterprise customer service delivery to core network staging, equipment testing, hardware migrations, and spares management. It is well‑suited for technicians who want to develop deep skills in IP networking, service delivery, and engineering support while working in a dynamic, multi‑disciplinary environment. This role requires adaptability, hands‑on technical ability, solid troubleshooting skills, and comfort working in a 24/7/365 operational setting.

Responsibilities

Maintain high availability and performance of network and service infrastructure across NS/NB/PEI.

Monitor network health, respond to alarms, and restore service to meet operational service‑level objectives.

Provide customer‑facing technical support for business services, including last‑mile troubleshooting and CPE support.





Act as an escalation resource for major incidents affecting regional network services.

Serve as the primary technical support resource (“tool‑belt support”) for MPLS and HSI engineering teams.

Assist with network builds, migrations, hardware upgrades, and configuration changes.

Stage, configure, and test new network equipment prior to deployment.

Review and confirm design plans, network records, and engineering documentation with design group.

Responding to technical requests from all areas of the company including Enterprise Services, Network Engineering, NOC Operations, and Field Operations.

Support a wide variety of activities ranging from enterprise service delivery to core network deployment.

Provide hands‑on troubleshooting and resolution across a broad service profile and geographic area.

Manage critical spares inventory for NS/NB/PEI, including deployment, tracking, and chain‑of‑custody controls.

Oversee equipment handling, staging, shipping, and receiving for engineering projects originating in Nova Scotia.

Qualifications

Telecom, CATV Operations Technician, Installer or Fiber Splicer Experience

Experience with network equipment staging, repair, installation, or troubleshooting

Hands‑on experience with data, telecom, or IP networking technologies.

Understanding of IP networking principles, routing, switching, and transport systems is an asset.

Ability to work in a rotating 24/7/365 operational environment.

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within Atlantic Canada as required.
