Provide impactful support as a Gender-Based Violence Prevention Counsellor. Deliver counselling and educational programming while fostering inclusive, trauma-informed environments for women and gender-diverse individuals.
This permanent role focuses on individual counselling and group facilitation with an emphasis on accessibility and trauma-informed care. The Counsellor will collaborate with clients, particularly those with developmental disabilities, to unpack the impacts of violence, trauma, and gender inequity. By providing educational programming on healthy relationships, consent, and safety, you’ll help empower individuals in making informed choices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver one-on-one counselling and facilitate group workshops
• Support safety planning and conduct risk assessments
• Apply trauma knowledge and develop effective strategies
• Foster collaboration with community agencies for client support
• Maintain records and uphold confidentiality standards
Requirements:
• 3 years in violence prevention and supportive counselling
• Completion of relevant college education or equivalent experience
• Strong understanding of gender-based violence and ableism
• Experience with accessible group facilitation
• Flexibility to work diverse hours, including weekends
