The Senior Controls Engineer owns subsystem-level control architecture and technical direction for advanced mechatronic automotive products. The position requires deep expertise in control theory, embedded implementation, and model-based development, combined with the ability to shape technical strategy, resolve ambiguity, and influence engineering outcomes across programs. Technical Architecture & Strategy





Define control subsystem architecture aligned with product and system requirements Translate system requirements into structured control strategies and technical roadmaps Lead algorithm trade-off studies (observer selection, modulation strategy, estimation robustness) Own control performance targets including NVH, efficiency, thermal robustness, and startup behavior Identify and mitigate control-related technical risks early in development Algorithm & Software Development

Lead development of advanced control and estimation algorithms (e.g., Sensorless FOC) Architect and maintain Simulink-based models suitable for production deployment Ensure model-to-code integrity and oversee model/code equivalency validation Drive calibration strategies and structured parameter management Ensure compliance with ASPICE-based production software processes Define control verification strategy including SIL, PIL, HIL, and dyno validation Oversee Rapid Control Prototyping / HIL platforms Lead structured root-cause investigations (8D) for control performance issues Ensure robustness across temperature extremes and production variability Support product industrialization and production release readiness Cross-Functional Integration

Collaborate with Systems, Firmware, Hardware,



and Mechanical teams to define sensing/actuation architecture Influence subsystem-level design decisions impacting performance, cost, and timing Interface with suppliers and customers on control strategy and performance topics Contribute to DFMEA, DVP&R;, and system architecture documentation What you will bring:

Sc. or PhD in Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience) 5–10+ years in controls development in automotive or aerospace systems 5+ years developing and deploying control and estimation algorithms to embedded targets Deep experience with PMSM motor control and sensorless FOC Advanced proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, and Python Experience with Model-Based Development workflows and HIL/RCP Experience with ASPICE-compliant development and requirements tools (e.g., Polarion) Experience owning subsystem architecture decisions and applying FMEA/DVP methodologies Ability to manage time effectively, meet aggressive deadlines, and thrive in a high pressure work environment Additional Information:
