Overview

Description AWS Payments CORE is responsible for building and maintaining the shared backbone infrastructure supporting AWS Payments systems, enabling a streamlined software development lifecycle, and ensuring a solid operational posture within the broader Payments organization. Responsibilities

A System Development Engineer in the Payments Core team will be responsible for: Building and maintaining services integral to the AWS Payments ecosystem. Identifying and developing processes, tools, automation, and software changes to address development pain points. Working in close collaboration with software development leadership and product management to shape the future roadmap. Partnering with software developers to establish strong operational readiness across teams. Leading changes to develop simple, elegant solutions to complex operational, security, audit, or reliability challenges. Qualifications

Basic Qualifications Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure. Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust. Experience with Linux/Unix. Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes. 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience with distributed systems at scale. Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems). Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent. Company & EEO

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
