Overview
The Director, Competition is responsible for spearheading the competition and case component of NSCC, and will report to the Co-Chair, Competition. Additionally, the Director, Competition will work with and oversee the Associate, Competition and the Associate, Case to facilitate relationships with case clients and prepare both the preliminary and final NSCC Case and Grading Rubric. Time Commitment
April-August: 15-20 hours per week September-October: 10-15 hours per week November: 10-15 hours per week (pre-conference) Term of Employment
April 2026 – February 2027 Main Responsibilities
Primary: Work collaboratively with external parties to secure two live clients for the case competition (1 preliminary case, 1 final round case)
Responsible for the execution of the preliminary and final round competition for NSCC
Benchmark with comparable competitions and conferences to develop a comprehensive set of rule and regulations
Create and consolidate briefs/feedback for competitors during both the preliminary and final rounds of the NSCC Case Competition
Help organize NSCC’s pre-competition events (Consulting 101, Ace the Case, etc)
Secondary: Support the sourcing, development,
and execution of all components of NSCC relating to the case (i.e. case writing, developing a scoring rubric, reviewing competition rules and regulations)
Assist the Director, Case to draft, edit and finalize NSCC 2025’s preliminary and final round cases
Qualifications
Excellent written and verbal professional communication skills
Previous case writing or case competition experience an asset
Positive and qualified attitude when communicating with external parties
Background in strategic analysis preferred
Strong analytical thinking skills and research abilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) is an asset
Anticipated Learning Outcomes
Learn to collaborate with companies in a professional setting
Develop skills in research, analysis, deck building, and data entry
Experience leading a team to produce high caliber deliverables within tight time constraints
Refine understanding of consulting/analytical frameworks
Gain extensive knowledge in the execution of a case competition
