Senior Accountant – a leadership role within a well‑established organization that operates in the real estate development and construction industry. What You’ll Be Doing

Financial Reporting & Close

- Support and contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with ASPE
- Assist with year‑end audit, review, and tax requirements

Project Accounting & Job Costing

- Oversee job costing for residential construction and land development projects
- Review Work‑in‑Progress (WIP) schedules and margin recognition
- Monitor cost‑to‑complete estimates and project profitability
- Partner with construction and development teams to analyze variances and cost trends

Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Flow

- Support budgeting and forecasting across projects and communities
- Monitor corporate and project‑level cash flow
- Prepare construction loan and mortgage draw submissions
- Ensure compliance with lending agreements and reporting requirements

Systems, Controls & Process Improvement

- Act as a key user for Sage 300 and Homefront systems
- Support system enhancements, integrations, and automation initiatives
- Maintain and improve internal controls, policies, and processes
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency and scalability

Team Support & Leadership





- Review work prepared by junior team members
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance
- Support the Controller and step in as needed

What We’re Looking For

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience within construction, real estate, or development environments
- Strong understanding of job costing, WIP, and project accounting
- Hands‑on experience with Sage 300 and/or Homefront (asset)
- Advanced Excel skills
- CPA designation or in progress (preferred)
- Experience with construction lending, mortgage draws, and covenants (asset)
- Exposure to multi‑entity environments and system improvements (asset)
