Our Ideal Candidate We are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer with a robust background in construction engineering in the infrastructure sector to join our team, based in Grande Prairie. As the successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to plan, coordinate, execute, and manage the design of a variety of structural projects. You will work in a team environment, preparing structural engineering designs and related documents. You will work on a variety of projects helping to lead with our team of engineers, EITs, designers and project managers.

A Day in the Life

Preliminary to detailed design of industrial structures, including concrete foundations and steel structures. Carry out estimates of project costs, complex analysis and calculations, design review, preparation of reports, proposals, and contract documentation

Collaborate with the project team, comprised of engineers, designers, project coordinators, and others,



to develop drawings and specifications

Perform new structural designs, evaluate existing structures, and supervise team members who perform inspections

Interact with clients to both support ongoing engineering projects as well as to develop new clients and new projects for Allnorth’s team

Interface directly with project managers (PMs), team members, contractors, and others to clearly define project requirements and expectations

Ensure completion of work within allotted schedules and budgets and with high-quality standards

Proactively resolve performance, scope, and schedule issues with the PMs as they arise

Offer support, mentoring, and guidance to other structural team members

What You’ll Bring to the Team

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, specialized in structural engineering

Registered as a P.Eng. in Alberta and eligible for registration in other provinces

10+ years of relevant experience in construction engineering or heavy industrial structural design, preferably within a consulting environment

Experience in pulp & paper or fiber processing facilities is strongly preferred

Experience with heavy equipment foundations, agile analysis, and seismic design

Experience working with national building codes

Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written)
