Job Description Reporting to the Manager, Accounting & Control, the Senior Financial Accountant (SFA)
will be a key player in facilitating the financial reporting and compliance for multiple RB Global entities. The SFA is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting by leading the day-to-day and month-end close process which includes reviewing journal entries, working papers, preparing more complex accruals and variance analysis. The SFA will lead key initiatives including defining and enhancing business processes by working with stakeholders to provide their accounting expertise to ensure all aspects are conducive from an accounting, compliance as well as a business perspective.
Responsibilities
Review accruals, working papers and prepare complex accounting entries
Prepare variance analysis for complex areas on P&L; and Balance Sheet
Review balance sheet account reconciliations and provide feedback to enhance quality
Review statutory compliance reporting and provide feedback to optimize and enhance
Lead enhancements in SOX program and business processes, which can include defining new processes through to implementation
Ensure the timeliness of the Control team’s day-to-day tasks through regular check-ins and providing updates to the Controller
Provide insights and guidance as a reliable and knowledgeable specialist in the Control Team
Provide guidance and mentorship to the Control team members
Flexible and willing to perform other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
3-5 years of relevant experience preferred in an accounting or finance role
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software. Oracle is an asset
Solid understanding of bookkeeping competencies
Excellent mathematical skills
Time management skills
Professional office workplace
