The Opportunity Stewart McKelvey is seeking a highly motivated and detail‑driven accounting professional to join the Firm’s Finance team. In this key role, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams to deliver timely financial reporting, conduct in‑depth analyses, and support strategic projects and decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare monthly financial statements and complete month‑end reporting packages.
Analyze monthly financial data with corresponding reconciliations to budget; prepare performance reports for senior management.
Conduct detailed monthly analysis and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
Reconcile bank accounts each month, prepare weekly cash reports, and provide related insights.
Create journal entries as needed.
Develop ad‑hoc financial and operational reports to support internal stakeholders across the Firm.
Assist in preparation for the Firm’s annual audit, providing supporting documentation and performing other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in Business Administration or an equivalent discipline.
CPA designation or recent completion of the CFE.
Minimum of three to five years of experience in an accounting setting.
Experience in a legal or professional services setting considered an asset.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas and data analysis tools.
Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, strong business acumen, and understanding of organizational economics and financial drivers.
Comfortable adopting new technology.
