The Role We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking chief structural engineer to provide technical leadership, strategic direction, and oversight to our architectural, civil and structural engineering functions. As a member of the technical services sustaining projects team, reporting to the manager, engineering, you will be the most senior structural engineer at Cameco and will ensure the integrity, safety, and innovation of structural design across all projects. The ideal candidate brings a depth of structural engineering expertise, solid leadership capabilities, and the ability to guide teams through complex engineering challenges. This individual will set engineering standards, mentor a high-performing team, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions.

In this role, you will:

Serve as the senior technical authority for all structural and civil engineering activities.

Establish and maintain engineering standards, practices, and design methodologies.





Lead long-term planning for structural engineering capabilities, technology, and workforce development.

Provide expert guidance on complex or high-risk projects.

Approve and seal structural designs, reports, and calculations as required.

Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards.

Mentor, coach, and develop civil/structural engineers and designers, including succession planning for key technical roles.

Champion continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and professional development.

Work closely with project managers, architects, engineering teams, and external consultants.

Communicate technical decisions and risks to senior leadership and cross-functional partners.

Represent the structural and civil disciplines in strategic initiatives and corporate planning.
