About The Role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular Full‑time Analyst – Business Systems III to join our dynamic IT External Customer Experience team. The IT External Customer Experience team is responsible for day‑to‑day software application support and planning, including researching, analyzing, defining, recommending, developing/configuring, testing, implementing and supporting IT Business Solutions in collaboration with client groups and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
In this role you will facilitate, coordinate and work with team members to collaborate with business stakeholders and delivery teams, delivering value towards current business problems. You will be responsible for identifying and completing complex tasks as part of an overall project or initiative. These tasks include requirements gathering/analysis, iteration/project planning, release coordination, test case creation/execution and problem management coordination/trending for existing business systems. The role also involves coordinating between other IT departments to complete infrastructure and other enabling services for current and existing business systems.

- Lead collaborative teams, coordinate development and research of process,
quality and project standards, and drive business system development and enhancement activities.
- Maintain open communication with developers and testers.
- Build strong relationships, developing IT strategic and tactical plans or business value streams.
- Understand and comply with Canadian Blood Services Information Technology and regulatory standards.
Desired Education and Skills
- Post‑secondary level education in a relevant discipline, preferably Business, Computer Science or Computer/Software Engineering.
- Minimum 7 years of IT experience in business systems analysis, product management, product ownership, project management, scrum mastery, software development, systems analysis or test execution.
- Experience with client business processes (e.g., Finance, Health Care, HR, Regulatory) and aptitude for system design.
- Familiarity with Confluence, Jira and SharePoint.
- Excellent documentation skills (use cases, user stories, business requirements, functional specifications, project plans, training and user guides).
- Ability to articulate requirements to IT subject matter experts, developers and testers.
- Exceptional problem analysis, planning, time management, organisational and project management skills for implementing large‑scale initiatives (scope, complexity, budget).

What You Can Expect
- This role works in a hybrid environment requiring onsite presence at a Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time (approximately two days per week).
- Work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day).
- Employees located outside Ottawa may be expected to travel to Ottawa quarterly for in‑person team meetings when required.
