Position: Junior Data Analyst Intern Department: Finance and Settlements Location: Toronto, ON (On‑Site) Wage: $20/hour Job Type & Duration: Internship Note: This is a supervised, entry‑level student placement designed to provide practical, hands‑on experience in financial analytics. The Junior Data Analyst will support the team in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to assist with business and operational decision‑making. This role provides hands‑on experience with data analysis tools, reporting, and real‑world datasets within the energy and trading environment. What You Will Do Collecting, cleaning, and organizing data from various internal and external sources Assisting in analyzing datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights Creating and maintaining reports, dashboards, and data visualizations Supporting data entry and ensuring data accuracy and consistency Using tools such as Microsoft Excel, SQL, and data visualization platforms (e.G., Power BI, Tableau) Assisting with ad hoc data analysis requests from team members Documenting data processes and maintaining organized datasets Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to support business decisions Qualifications Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Data Analytics, Computer Science,



Business Analytics, or a related field Basic understanding of data analysis, statistics, and data management concepts Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with SQL ordata visualization tools is an asset Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Good communication and time management abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team Nice to have Previous internship or project experience involving data analysis Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R Work Setting Internship or entry‑level position Supervised by the Senior Manager of Finance & Settlements Opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in accounting and financial operations Work‑life balance Team‑building events How This Placement Relates to the Student’s Studies This placement directly supports the student’s academic studies in data analytics, computer science, or business analytics by providing practical, hands‑on experience in data collection, analysis, and visualization.
