We are a 50 year old family business that owns and operates multiple commercial and industrial properties across the Greater Toronto Area, comprising over 500,000 square feet. Our diverse portfolio of properties includes community shopping centres with national tenants, industrial buildings and numerous retail stores, as well as a share of residential properties.
Position Summary
The Asset Manager will lead the Properties management and leasing team, ensuring strong operational and risk oversight, financial performance, tenant satisfaction and value maximization across the portfolio of real estate assets. This role will partner with Executive leadership and requires a hands-on leader with a keen eye for detail and a proven track record of developing and executing plans to achieve investment returns.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute leasing and asset strategies to maximize portfolio value, NOI growth, and long-term returns
- Oversee leasing operations to ensure operational excellence, tenant satisfaction, and cost-control.
- Complete full financial review and analysis on a semi-annual and annual basis
- Identify value creation opportunities and oversee execution
- Set annual operational and capital budgets in accordance with asset plans
- Lead annual CAM reconciliations for leased properties as well as review and validation of CAM adjustments for retail locations that lease premises from third-party landlords.
- Provide direction to 3rd party and internal property management companies regarding day-to-day management and operational activities
- Work in conjunction with retail operations management to facilitate improvements with respect to retail store leases
- Build scalable systems and processes to support portfolio and future growth
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Degree in Business, Real Estate, Urban Development, and/or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate management
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Solid analytical and interpersonal skills
Role is Full-time - In Office with some travel in and around GTA, as required
