Department Overview The GTS Finance, CBTS Finance team provides finance support to technology businesses within Canadian Banking and the centralized Practices under Customer Platforms. Responsibilities include management reporting, planning and forecasting, decision support, business analytics, and project/BAU work plan forecasting for all CBTS businesses.

Job Responsibilities Reporting to the Sr Manager, the Senior Financial Analyst works closely with technology portfolios to deliver monthly/quarterly management reporting, planning, forecasting, and financial analysis. The role requires a self‑starter with strong technical skills, business acumen, and problem‑solving capabilities. Key responsibilities include providing exceptional service to clients, supporting accrual processes, analyzing CB LOB spend, reviewing variances, and improving reporting processes.

Key Accountabilities

Work with the Management Team to meet deliverables and provide outstanding client service.

Lead, support, and develop the CBTS accrual process and reconcile data for accuracy.

Develop in‑depth analysis of CB LOB spend by initiative type and compare with forecasts.

Interpret P&L; and provide monthly variances and explanations.

Deep‑dive into technology expenses for management and leadership reporting.

Report on resource utilization and explain any variances.

Analyze the impact of financial/accounting, policy and process changes.

Map and document technology processes and system data flows.

Define and document allocation of project, application, and support charges.





Manage reporting of technology charges in correlation with demand per initiative type.

Improve CIO reporting processes.

Integrate Projects/Base reporting into the CIO view.

Develop a deep understanding of the technology business environment.

Build and maintain internal relationships across business units.

Contribute to a positive team environment.

Support the Management Team with issue resolution.

Analyze charge‑out rates and present recovery causes.

Prepare monthly financial packages for portfolio leads.

Meet with leadership to review results and close issues promptly.

Qualifications & Skills

Solid technical and analytical skills, with strong organizational abilities.

Effective problem‑solving and minimal supervision required.

Attention to detail and ability to synthesize complex issues.

Strong communication skills for all levels of management.

Proficiency with MS Excel (Power Pivot), Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Knowledge of Hyperion, Essbase, and Oracle is an asset.

Excellent teamwork, interpersonal skills, and independent work capability.

Proven track record of customer service and creative problem solving.

Education & Accreditations

University degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.

Completion or ongoing pursuit of CPA, CFA, or other relevant financial designations is an asset.

Minimum 4–5 years of experience in finance and business case development.
