Electrical Engineering Internship – 12+ Months (MEA01968) The internship at Meadowbank Complex offers students hands‑on experience supporting an Electrical Engineer in the Energy and Infrastructure Department. The role focuses on project execution, compliance with electrical engineering standards, and energy management.

Responsibilities

Participate in electrical projects such as optimization of the powerhouse, modification of the electrical system, energy savings, and related tasks.

Support the Project Coordinator in project execution and recent electrical installations.

Ensure engineering standards for labeling equipment and drawings with proper locations.

Support the Powerhouse and Electrical crew in daily operations.

Update and create electrical drawings (single line, wiring diagrams, general arrangement) using AutoCAD.

Track energy consumption (electrical and fuel) and conduct power analysis (database, trends, reports).

Ensure compliance with standards for electrical installations.

Write and interpret specifications, regulations, and procedures for electric power equipment and its use.

Qualifications





Currently enrolled in a University degree program in Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.

Students must be enrolled in their university’s formal Co‑op program.

Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.

Strong work ethic with the ability to handle change.

High level of energy, self‑motivation, and organizational skills.

Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.

Work Schedule & Benefits Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest. Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will cover other traveling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.

Note: The official working language at Meadowbank Complex is English.
