Role Description

North Island College is currently seeking full-time, Red Seal Certified Instructors in Heavy Duty, Plumbing, and Electrical.

In this role, you will deliver high-quality instruction in specialized trades programs, mentor students, and support their technical skill development. Responsibilities include developing lesson plans, assessing student progress, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring curriculum aligns with current industry standards to prepare students for successful Red Seal certification.





Collaboration with colleagues and participation in continuous program improvement are key components of this role.

Qualifications

- Red Seal Certification in the relevant trade, with demonstrated expertise in the field
- Experience delivering curriculum, developing lesson plans, and instructing in classroom and/or shop environments
- Solid mentorship, coaching, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of workplace safety standards and protocols in the skilled trades industry
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and contribute to program development
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with diverse populations and fostering an inclusive learning environment
- Previous Instructional experience an asset
- Proficiency with relevant instructional and student management technologies
- A strong commitment to student success and the ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles
