The Opportunity Build the Future with Us. Join WSP’s Buildings Mechanical & Electrical (M&E;) team in Winnipeg and play a key role in designing the electrical systems that support safe, resilient, and high‑performing buildings. As an

Electrical Designer , you will support the delivery of coordinated electrical design packages for projects across Manitoba and the Prairie region, with opportunities to contribute nationally.

Working closely with electrical engineers, senior designers, and multidisciplinary teams, you will help translate design concepts into clear, constructible drawings and models that bring complex building projects to life.

Your Impact

Develop electrical design drawings and documentation for building systems including power distribution, lighting, lighting controls, fire alarm, communications, security, and site services.

Prepare AutoCAD drawings and Revit MEP 3D models that accurately reflect design intent and support integrated project delivery.

Apply the requirements of the Canadian Electrical Code, provincial building codes, and applicable standards under the guidance of senior engineers.

Assist with the preparation of technical specifications, schedules, and design calculations.

Participate in site investigations and construction reviews to verify existing conditions and support resolution of field issues.

Collaborate with architects, mechanical designers, and other disciplines to ensure coordinated and clash‑free designs.





Support quality reviews of electrical deliverables to ensure compliance with WSP standards and project requirements.

Qualifications

A diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related discipline

3+ years of experience in electrical building design

Hands‑on experience producing electrical drawings for institutional, commercial, healthcare, or industrial building projects

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP, with a strong understanding of drawing standards and model coordination

Working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and applicable provincial building codes

Familiarity with lighting systems, power distribution, life safety systems, and low‑voltage infrastructure

Strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

Compensation Compensation: AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $66,700 – $88,400

MB & ON: $60,900 – $83,800

NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $60,900 – $83,800
