As a logistics leadership volunteer, you will be part of our organizing committees of 10 to 15 volunteers who will work over the months to help us organize our fundraising events. Depending on the needs in your community, available roles could include committee lead, logistics, community outreach, volunteer lead, and social media.
Description The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is a 5k or 1k walk or run. It is a volunteer‑led event and the largest breast cancer fundraiser in Canada.
This year’s event will be taking place on Sunday, October 4, 2026.
Route & Site Lead As the volunteer Route & Site Lead, you will be responsible for:
Creating a 1k and 5k route.
Being the liaison with police, security, and traffic management to ensure a safe route and ensuring all permits are submitted and approved.
Creating an impactful start and finish line/area for the event.
Booking the venue and all logistical suppliers working with your Run Director, Logistics, and staff partner.
Creating a site plan for event day.
Executing set up and tear down on event weekend.
Overseeing all route/site tasks on event day.

What we're looking for You are passionate about the breast cancer cause, well‑connected in your community, and enjoy event planning. The ideal candidate for this volunteer role has a positive attitude,
communication and interpersonal skills, and a solid sense of self‑motivation and time management.
Knowledge and/or experience in any of the role responsibilities is considered an asset.
Must be 18+ to apply. Volunteer application process will occur in English in all provinces except Quebec where it will occur in French.

Your commitment
This is a 6-month commitment (May through October).
Attending local committee meetings (generally bi‑weekly to monthly).
Independent role work/responsibilities (approx. 6-8 hours per month).
Must be available over the event weekend (October 3 & October 4).
