Replacement for a retiring physician at the Comox Valley Medical Clinic. The current physician will assume the practice on or about fall 2028, with locum work available beforehand.

Start Date

This position is to take over the retiring physician’s practice in the fall of 2028. Prior to that locum work is available.

Overhead

Overhead is calculated under a cost‑sharing agreement based on the actual costs each month.

Benefits

- Recruitment Incentive - $10,000
- Fee Premium - 6.93%
- Annual Flat Fee - $10,739.52
- Relocation Costs Reimbursement: up to a maximum of $15,000 (amount based on funding availability and relocating location)
- Rural CME starting at $2,200/annum in years 3 & 4, increasing to a maximum of $4,400/annum after 4 years

Responsibilites

The role involves providing primary medical care in a range of specialties, including general medicine, women’s health, pediatrics, oncology, cardiology, obstetrics, geriatrics, inpatient and long‑term care,



and surgical operating room assists. The physician will use a well‑maintained, fully integrated EMR (Accuro) for charting, labs, referrals, billing, and appointments, and will support both in‑person and telehealth visits. The practice is supported by a full‑time office manager for administrative functions and registered nurse‑in‑practice staff for direct patient care, wound care, and in‑house phlebotomy services.

Start‑Up Support

Guaranteed minimum of 12 weeks (3 months) of locum coverage per year for the first two years. Additional vacation can be negotiated.

It is just 20 minutes by air from Vancouver and an hour’s drive north from Nanaimo, with proximity to beaches, small town urban life, and mountainous back‑country.
