Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Cabinetry Engineer with hands-on experience in Microvellum templates and reports. The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing and maintaining engineering standards, templates, and hardware functionality units, while supporting the engineering team and production of highly customized cabinetry projects.
Responsibilities
Create, update, and maintain Microvellum templates to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and consistency in production.
Develop and implement custom hardware solutions in Microvellum and integrate them into cabinet designs.
Collaborate with the production team to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges in custom cabinetry builds.
Process orders to our shop as our engineering team does, including optimizations, reports for the shop, and requisitions to the purchasing team.
Interpret and prepare detailed AutoCAD drawings and shop drawings for manufacturing.
Engineer and document solutions for non-standard cabinetry requests.
Review and maintain hardware functionality to meet evolving design and production needs.
Ensure all engineering files are organized, accurate, and compliant with company standards.
Write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to document processes.
Provide solutions to the Customer Service team for special hardware requests.
Deliver Microvellum training to team members as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience with Microvellum in a cabinetry manufacturing environment.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (minimum 3 years).
Solid understanding of custom cabinet design, construction methods, and components.
Experience with templates.
Ability to read and interpret technical and shop drawings.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with high-end custom cabinetry and specialty hardware.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing (Kaizen) or continuous improvement in cabinetry production.
Cabinetry education in the industrial wood processing industry.
Soft Skills
Proactive problem solver with solid analytical skills.
Collaborative and flexible team player.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
