The Senior Engineering Specialist Lead, Networking Security Services (Network Platform) is responsible for designing, deploying, and operationalizing network and security technologies, while providing day-to-day technical leadership across the Network Security Services domain.
This position establishes technical direction and standards, investigates emerging technologies, leads proof-of-concept initiatives to evaluate business alignment, and promotes ongoing service enhancement through routine assessments of service health.
The Lead partners with architecture, security, and delivery teams to align roadmaps and ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and operable, and enables the growth of other engineers through hands‑on mentorship, pairing on complex issues, facilitating design reviews, codifying reusable patterns and runbooks, and leading knowledge‑sharing sessions.
What You Will Do
Provide technical consulting and lead‑level guidance on the capabilities and limitations of network and security technologies
Lead validation of new technologies through rapid prototyping and proofs of concept, and present outcomes and recommendations to stakeholders
Research and evaluate technologies/products, build business‑aligned options, and make recommendations that influence platform decisions
Test and evaluate network and security technologies against established criteria
Work with vendors to finalize detailed technical specifications for hardware and software
Conduct installation of hardware and software within test environments and, when necessary, in production settings
Build or enhance network and security technologies infrastructure components, and integrate 3rd party components, using standard tools (batch languages, programming languages, etc.)
Implement all deliverables with the highest possible quality (that is, fewest implementation defects)
Participate in the creation of project deliverables (estimates, schedules, risk assessments, etc.) as a project team member
Make design decisions and provide technical oversight within the bounds established by project, portfolio, site, and enterprise architectures
Contribute to creation and ongoing ownership of network and security technologies roadmaps, including prioritization and dependency alignment
Conduct technical health assessments of network and security technologies,
identify systemic risks, and drive remediation and continuous improvement plans
Provide technical mentorship through pairing and troubleshooting support, lead design/implementation reviews, and raise overall engineering quality by improving standards, documentation/runbooks, and operational readiness
Occasional travel may be required
What You Will Bring
A degree or equivalent education in a related discipline such as Computer Science, Business Computing, Engineering, or Commerce
Minimum 10 years of experience designing, integrating, and implementing end‑to‑end infrastructure, network, and security solutions in a large organization
Proven skills in designing and deploying multi‑platform solutions
Broad knowledge of industry technology and directions, and specific knowledge in network and security domains such as network technologies (LAN/WAN/WLAN, SDWAN, Load Balancers, DNS), IAM technologies, Cloud Computing, Automation, IPS/IDS, DDOS, Firewalls, WAF, VPN etc.
Demonstrated initiative and the ability to influence others
Demonstrated experience mentoring and upskilling peers (e.g., pairing, knowledge‑sharing sessions, and constructive design/code reviews)
Demonstrated strength in both technical and interpersonal skills
The incumbent should have skills and knowledge in capacity planning, disaster recovery planning, product/service lifecycles, service management and a strong focus on customer service
Experience in performance tuning complex infrastructure solutions; knowledge of performance and monitoring tools will be an asset
Attention to detail and effective planning and organizational skills
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
Good working knowledge of ITIL practices and processes
Robust leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience working in a team environment
Strong desire to implement change and contribute to the organization’s vision
Proven history of making appropriate decisions and recommendations
Good knowledge of Agile, Dev Ops, and PM methodologies
Understanding of Cloud Provider Platforms (CSP), and their Native Networking Services/Tools
Network Integration for Hybrid and Multi‑Cloud Infrastructure and deployments
Create detailed, comprehensive, and well‑structured test plans and test cases.
Managing and provisioning expertise using Infrastructure as code (IAC)

Expertise in network security (including but not limited to IPS/IDS, DDoS, WAF)
Accreditation in Network and/or Security such as CCIE, CCNP, CISSP or equivalent
Sets cloud‑native networking strategy (VPC/VNET, routing/segmentation, L7/L4 load balancing, private connectivity, DNS/service discovery, Kubernetes networking)
Leads secure platform automation with standards and policy‑as‑code guardrails; scales IaC/CI/CD, compliance automation, and operational readiness across hybrid/multi‑cloud
Base salary for this position is between $107,800 – $157,800 annually.
This figure represents base salary only and does not include other variable compensation components of our total compensation.
