Financial Reporting Manager

As the Financial Reporting Manager, you’ll take ownership of delivering accurate, timely financial information while guiding the accounting team with a proactive, forward-thinking mindset. This junior-to-mid-level leadership position plays a key role in strengthening reporting processes and ensuring financial clarity across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of the accounting and bookkeeping function, ensuring accuracy and consistency across records.
- Gather, consolidate, and prepare both internal and external financial reports.
- Review quarterly and annual consolidated and entity-level financial statements, including disclosures, supporting schedules, and public filings (such as Operations Reports), ensuring precision and compliance with ASPE.
- Maintain and enforce sound accounting practices aligned with established policies and standards.
- Ensure adherence to lender reporting requirements, including timely submission of quarterly covenant-related filings.
- Analyze and interpret financial results across Actuals, Forecasts, and Budgets.
- Evaluate variances between planned and actual performance, including KPIs, business drivers, overhead costs, growth initiatives, and market trends.
- Support the preparation and coordination of annual audits, working closely with external auditors.
- Research and apply appropriate ASPE treatment for complex transactions, including drafting technical accounting memos and disclosures.
- Monitor evolving accounting standards, assessing their impact and documenting implications for the organization.
- Contribute to other related duties and special projects as required.
First-Year Success Measures
- Deliver at least 95% of monthly and quarterly reports on schedule, with no material audit adjustments and fewer than 2% post-close corrections across financial statements and lender reporting.
- Shorten the month-end close cycle by 20–30% while standardizing and automating at least half of key reconciliations and reporting processes.
- Execute a seamless audit process with no significant findings, minimal adjustments (≤5%), and on-time completion—while earning positive feedback from auditors and stakeholders and establishing a consistent, audit-ready documentation framework.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required.
- Experience in financial reporting, accounting, or audit roles.
- Prior experience with a Big Four accounting firm is considered a solid asset.
