Job Title - Procurement Specialist

Location - Edmonton, AB, Canada – (Remote)

Employment Type - Contract

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to support technology procurement initiatives within the Government of Alberta’s Court Technology Services (CTS).

This role will focus on delivering end-to-end procurement and contracting activities, ensuring compliance with public sector policies while enabling efficient and transparent acquisition of technology solutions. You will work closely with procurement leadership, project teams, and stakeholders to support modernization and digital initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage procurement documentation (RFPs, RFQs, NRFPs, etc.) aligned with government policies and best practices

• Lead and support end-to-end procurement cycles, including evaluations, negotiations, and contract finalization

• Provide strategic procurement advice to business units, IT teams, and leadership stakeholders

• Manage procurement activities across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and governance frameworks

• Prepare procurement deliverables and presentations for steering committees and internal stakeholders

• Collaborate with project teams to define procurement strategies, including resource requirements, risks, and dependencies

• Monitor procurement progress, track milestones, and support issue resolution

• Assist in contract management, vendor coordination, and compliance tracking

• Support project planning activities including scheduling,



resource estimation, and execution strategies

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Public Administration, or related field

• 5+ years of experience leading RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, evaluations, and contract negotiations

• 8+ years of experience in contract drafting, vendor management, and procurement advisory

• Strong experience working within Canadian public sector procurement frameworks and regulations

• Hands-on knowledge of trade agreements such as CETA, CFTA, NWPTA, or CUSMA

• Ability to evaluate pricing models, cost structures, and contract risks

• Solid communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Skills

• Procurement certification such as SCMA, CPPB, or equivalent

• Experience supporting technology procurements (software, hardware, cloud, cybersecurity)

• Experience in digital transformation or modernization programs

• Familiarity with government procurement systems and policies (GoA preferred)

• Strong analytical and documentation skills

Additional Requirements

• Must work from within Alberta (Canada) due to data security policies

• Primarily remote role with occasional onsite meetings (at candidate’s expense)





• Standard + Enhanced Security Clearance required (including criminal record check)

• Mandatory completion of FOIP and security awareness training upon onboarding

• Work hours: 7.25 hours/day (Alberta time)
