Senior Actuarial Analyst
Our client is currently seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join their Actuarial Solutions team. Reporting to the Actuarial Director, this is a hybrid role based in either Edmonton, Calgary, or Vancouver.

What You’ll Do
In this role, you will play a key part in supporting pricing strategy and actuarial initiatives across personal and commercial lines of business (property, auto, and casualty). Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing actuarial analysis of insurance rates, rating procedures, and rating structures across multiple lines of business
- Developing and enhancing rating systems and pricing methodologies
- Supporting regulatory rate filings and related actuarial documentation
- Partnering with IT teams on underwriting system development and enhancements as they relate to pricing and reinsurance
- Building and maintaining forecasting and predictive models to support business planning
- Compiling and analyzing data to support reinsurance programs and strategic decision-making
- Supporting product pricing in collaboration with internal stakeholders
- Preparing insights and reports for executive leadership
- Monitoring industry trends and providing actionable insights to management
- Participating in internal committees and cross-functional initiatives as required
- Presenting complex model outputs in a clear,
business-focused manner to non-technical stakeholders
What You’ll Bring
- Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science or a related quantitative discipline (Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, etc.)
- 2+ CAS exams completed
- 4+ years of Property & Casualty actuarial experience
- Strong experience in commercial lines pricing
- Advanced technical skills in Excel; experience with SQL and R strongly preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical findings into clear business insights
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
- Willingness to travel occasionally within Canada
- Experience with Guidewire considered an asset
- ACAS/FCAS designation considered an asset
- Experience with Radar and/or machine learning techniques considered an asset
- Ability to work from an office location in Western Canada considered an asset

- Competitive base salary with annual bonus eligibility
- Salary range: $85,000 – $110,000 (BC Pay Transparency range, where applicable)
