About the Role
As Communications and Events Coordinator, you will fill a key role with communications and events at Renewable Cities.
Working closely with the team, you’ll help translating dialogue and research outcomes into clear, practical and accessible materials across formats, including designing and formatting content for publications, newsletters and web.
You will also coordinate event logistics for workshops and other engagement activities with policymakers, industry and service providers.
You will support ongoing initiatives that address climate, sustainability, equity and resilience in urban regions.
You bring strong writing, editing and digital design skills, along with experience in formatting and publishing.
You are organized, able to manage multiple priorities,
enjoy working with people and work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
You are comfortable coordinating logistics, engaging with people both in-person and online.
You bring a spirit of flexibility, hospitality and generosity, and embrace a reflective growth culture, with desire to learn, adapt and share knowledge while being open to change and continuous improvement.
You take initiative and anticipate next steps to ensure smooth delivery of effective communications and successful events.
Full Job Description
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field with two years of related experience in the design, strategy, planning, execution of marketing/communication plans, and event planning and logistics, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, problem solving, and project management skills.
Excellent knowledge of communication, promotion, and marketing principles, practices and strategies using print and electronic media
Excellent attention to detail including research, copyediting, and copywriting skills.
Proficient in the use of software applications and event/communication tools (e.g., InDesign, Photoshop, Adobe Suite, Canva, Eventbrite, Campaigner, Survey
Monkey, CMS, HTML, CSS, AEM, etc.).
Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills (oral and written).
