Ramstar is a growing industrial distribution and manufacturing company based in Windsor, Ontario. As we continue to expand, we are looking for a Finance Manager to join our leadership team and help guide the company through its next phase of growth.

Over the next several years, Ramstar plans to grow significantly through expansion in distribution, Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), and strategic acquisitions. This role will help build the financial infrastructure, insight, and systems needed to support that growth.

The Finance Manager reports directly to the Integrator and is a key member of the Leadership Team.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Finance Manager provides financial clarity, operational insight, and scalable infrastructure that supports Ramstar’s continued growth. This role works closely with the Distribution, Manufacturing, and Sales leaders to translate financial data into practical insight that improves decision-making across the business.

The Finance Manager oversees the company’s core business infrastructure functions, including Accounting, HR coordination with a fractional provider, Data & Analytics, and coordination with outsourced IT services.

At Ramstar’s current stage, the Finance Manager will operate as a hands-on builder who combines strong financial leadership with a practical approach to improving systems, reporting, and processes. As the company grows, this role will play an important part in developing the finance function and building the capabilities needed to support the next stage of growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Leadership & Reporting

- Oversee accounting operations and financial reporting
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Ensure accurate and timely financial statements
- Provide financial insight that supports leadership decision-making

Cash Flow & Financial Stability

- Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital
- Monitor financial performance and key indicators
- Support capital planning and financial controls
- Ensure the company maintains financial stability while investing in growth





Margin Visibility & Business Insight

- Work closely with Distribution, Sales, and Purchasing to improve visibility into margins, costs, and profitability
- Develop reporting that shows margin performance across products, suppliers, and customer programs
- Provide analysis that supports pricing decisions, supplier negotiations, and inventory investment
- Help leadership understand the true economics of the business as Ramstar grows

The Finance Manager will help the leadership team understand the financial drivers of the business and identify opportunities to improve margins, strengthen purchasing decisions, and support profitable growth.

Data, Systems & Business Infrastructure

- Oversee ERP systems, reporting tools, and business analytics
- Partner with the Data Analyst to improve dashboards, reporting, and automation
- Ensure financial and operational data supports better decision-making across departments
- Coordinate with the company’s outsourced IT provider to support technology needs

HR & Organizational Infrastructure

- Partner with the company’s fractional HR leader to ensure Ramstar’s people systems support the organization as it grows
- Help align hiring plans, organizational structure, and compensation strategies with the company’s growth goals
- Support the development of policies, performance systems, and workforce planning that strengthen the company’s culture and leadership capability

Strategic Growth Support

- Support financial evaluation and modeling of potential acquisitions
- Assist leadership in evaluating growth opportunities and operational investments
- Help build the systems and processes required to scale Ramstar effectively

Leadership Responsibilities

The Finance Manager directly oversees Accounting support, Data & Analytics capability, and coordination with outsourced IT services, while partnering closely with the company’s fractional HR resource to support the organization’s people and infrastructure needs. This role works closely with the Distribution, Manufacturing, and Sales leaders to support operational performance and financial clarity across the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or equivalent designation preferred
- 5+ years of progressive financial experience, with 1-2 years in a leadership capacity




- Solid understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management
- Experience with ERP systems and financial analytics (familiarity with Epicor P21 and Genius a definite asset)
- Previous experience in supporting M&A; activity
- Previous experience managing and mentoring team members
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Experience supporting companies in the $10M–$50M revenue range is strongly preferred
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-based businesses preferred
- Experience working within the EOS framework considered a strong asset

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means helping Ramstar build strong financial clarity as the company grows. The Finance Manager will ensure that financial reporting is timely and trusted, that leadership has clear visibility into margins and performance, and that the company understands the economics of its products, suppliers, and customer programs.

In the first 90 days, the Finance Manager will focus on:

- Taking ownership of the budget creation process, and establishing a clear financial roadmap for the Ramstar
- Performing a thorough job costing analysis to accurately capture and allocate labour and overhead across manufacturing and distribution lines to ensure accuracy in pricing models

Over time, this role will help ensure Ramstar has the financial systems, reporting, and insights needed to scale confidently.

What You can Expect

- Work schedule: To stay aligned with our production and distribution teams, this role operates on a work schedule of Monday to Friday 7:30am-5:00pm.
- Competitive compensation: Base salary from $90,000-$120,000, plus participation in Ramstar’s incentive program
- Holiday closure: Two weeks of paid company-wide shut down to ensure everyone has the opportunity to recharge – one during the summer and another during the winter holiday season
