PRODUCT DEVELOPER – HOME, GIFT & OFFICE PRODUCTS

JMA Designs is seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Product Developer to join our Toronto team.

This role focuses on the end-to-end development of physical consumer products across home, gift, and office categories — from concept through to production. You will take ownership of product assortments, working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment to bring trend-driven ideas to market.

This is not a digital, UX, or software product role.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage the full product lifecycle from concept through to production and retail launch
- Lead ideation and development of new, trend-driven product concepts
- Translate ideas into clear product specifications, drawings, and production-ready files
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment on product, cost, and timelines
- Analyze trends, materials, and competitive landscape to inform product direction
- Oversee key stages of development to ensure quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery
- Create and maintain product specifications, CADs, and documentation
- Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to bring products to life




- Continuously explore new materials, finishes, and design directions

JOB REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Industrial Design, Product Design, or related field
- 2–5 years experience in physical product development or consumer goods
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and product construction
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Experience with CAD (Solid Works, AutoCAD, or similar) is an asset
- Solid sense of trend, colour, and market awareness
- Highly organized with solid attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel to trade shows and suppliers as needed
