Job Title: Litigation Associate (2–6 Years)

About the Role

We are working with a respected mid-sized law firm in downtown Toronto seeking a Litigation Associate with 2–6 years of experience to join its dynamic litigation group. This role offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of complex matters while collaborating closely with experienced partners and a supportive team. You’ll play a key role in managing files, advocating for clients, and contributing to strategic litigation outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a diverse caseload including commercial litigation, civil disputes, and/or regulatory matters

Draft pleadings, motion materials, affidavits, and legal correspondence

Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda

Appear on motions, discoveries, case conferences, and (as appropriate) hearings

Assist with trial preparation including briefs, witness preparation, and strategy development

Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and court staff

Manage timelines and ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements

Collaborate with partners and senior lawyers on litigation strategy and file progression

Qualifications

2–6 years of post-call experience in litigation at a law firm

Strong knowledge of Ontario civil procedure and court processes

Excellent drafting, research,



and advocacy skills

Proven ability to manage files independently with attention to detail

Strong organizational and time management skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario

Nice-to-Have Skills

Experience with commercial litigation, construction litigation, or professional liability

Exposure to trial or arbitration proceedings

Familiarity with eDiscovery tools and litigation technology platforms

Experience mentoring junior associates or students
