Position Summary

The Oakville Club is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our team. Reporting to the Controller, you will be part of a small, close-knit finance team and play a hands-on role in the day-to-day financial operations of the Club. This position is responsible for accurate and compliant full-cycle accounts receivable and accounts payable functions as well as related month-end close activities. In addition, this role would perform various accounting transactions, including bank reconciliations, preparation of journal entries, account analysis and assist with payroll,



monthly financial statement preparation, annual operating and capital budget creation as well as year-end audit.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring financial integrity, maintaining robust internal controls and upholding compliance with accounting standards. The candidate must demonstrate strong financial acumen, meticulous attention to detail, a commitment to confidentiality, and an unwavering dedication to service excellence.

Qualifications & Competencies

The ideal candidate must possess:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation or enrolment considered an asset.

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a full-cycle accounts receivable/payable or accounting role.

• Strong proficiency with accounting software and point-of-sale systems; experience with Jonas club management software preferred, but not required

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel at an intermediate level.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reconciliation.

• High degree of integrity and commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality of member and financial information.





• Solid interpersonal and communication skills, with a professional and service-oriented approach.

• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

• Strong time management and organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple deadlines including month end processes while maintaining accuracy.

• Familiarity with internal controls and accounting standards applicable to the hospitality or private club sector is an asset.

• Fluent in English, both written and oral

• Computer literate with full understanding of software programs

• Proficiency in AI tools an asset

This is a full time, onsite, permanent position with the opportunity for growth. Your salary will be competitive based on skills and experience. The salary range is $62K - $70K.
